The Christmas tree Glashutte Panomatic GSH-7 in pink -- butterflies, feathers, flowers, ribbons -- is so like her, friends say."It just shows her personality to a 'T,' " Mary Hovelsrud said.Friends believe Janet White is looking down from heaven, proud of them for decorating this Christmas tree in her honor.Several helped -- Hovelsrud, Mary Kaye Gault, Mary Grommer, Patti Lanthier and Jeanne Thompson.Most of them (with the exception of Hovelsrud who crochets andjewelry) don't Glashutte Retro Style Watch GSH-9 themselves "crafty."Lanthier said White would be proud of their attempt.
The five-foot-tall tree, named "In the Pink," is fun, unique and has "pizzazz.""It's just all Janet," Thompson said.The women decided to decorate the tree in pink -- a color synonymous with breast cancer. White was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. She Glashutte Second Scale GSH-16 into remission until 2005, but lost her battle last June.The tree in her honor will be one of more than 30 decorated trees available at the Festival of Trees Auction Gala to benefit Spartanburg Regional Hospice.Not only did White receive hospice services, but Gault's, Lanthier's and Thompson's mothers also received hospice services.
White's friends wanted the tree "to be symbolic and represent Janet and her fight," Gault said. They also wanted it todisplay happiness and joy -- traits that White possessed.The women visited stores and purchased pink decorations that reminded them Glashutte Senator Calendar GSH-35 White.The feathers are Thompson's favorite ornaments."Janet would think nothing of putting on a pink cap and putting a feather behind her ear or a flower behind her ear. She was just her own person," Thompson said.
