It's not just nostalgia that gives vintage its Elsa Peretti Teardrop pendant appeal. Kristy Chamberland, 19, of Worcester hasn't been on the planet long enough even to have her baby clothes considered vintage by the customary standard that items be at Elsa Peretti Round pendant 20 years old. "Vintage purses are really awesome, and jackets," she said, as she perused the Abby's House Thrift Shop recently. "It's basically recycling styles that never die out."
Quality workmanship also is a vintage hallmark. "There so many different things to love about it," Salerno said. "Things just aren't made the way they Elsa Peretti Crucifix pendant before, and there are fewer and fewer smaller stores and designers and places to get individualized things. People are always looking for something different, so if something's old, chances are there aren't 20 of them floating around in the same town if you're going out somewhere."
Since its founding in 1976, Abby's House has helped more than 11,000 homeless women and children. The average stay at the shelter used to be 11 nights, but Elsa Peretti Cross pendant increased to 27. It costs $157,650 a year to run the shelter, only $15,500 of which is covered by grants.
